What to know

Short links make friendlier codes

Every extra character adds modules, and a denser code needs to be printed larger to stay scannable. A 30-character link produces a tidy grid; a 200-character link with tracking parameters produces a dense block that struggles on a business card.

If your URL carries a long UTM string, point the code at a clean landing page and put the tracking on that page instead.

Does the QR code still work if I delete my page?

The code will still scan, but it will lead to a dead page. The code encodes the address, not the content — so keep the destination live, or set up a redirect at that address.

Can I edit where the QR code points after printing it?

Not with a static code. The destination is part of the pattern itself. If you need to change it later, you need a dynamic code, where the QR points at a redirect service that you control.
